This all metal construction known as the KitchenAid 4-Slice Toaster functions as two toasters in one with a nice lcd display to show a countdown timer showing you how much time is left for your food to cook. Toasting is done at a fair and even speed and automatically lifts when down and has an automatic lower feature as well. In order to cancel a toast you just simply press the cancel button and with no fuss the 4-slice will stop toasting.You can easily adjust heating times by moving the knob left or right for less or more time. Both sides can work independently of each other and have different settings on each side.
Complaints
Complaints against the Kitchenaid is the fact that it beeps four times. One when you push the start button to start toasting and three beeps after toasting is finished. Three beeps is unnecessary and louder than they needed to be as some might find is annoying to hear in the morning. Toasting takes somewhat longer then it probably needs too and can be annoying to those who want quick toasting. Some customers have has problems with the durability of their 4-slice with parts breaking down after several months. Luckily Kitchenaid has a great warranty and will replace any broken toasters for you.
Summary
The KitchenAid 4-Slice Toaster is a quality toaster with a great build and stainless steel coating while functioning as two toaster in one. This is a toaster that is built to last and we’ve had no problems with the 4-slice breaking down and needing to be replaced. The toaster is easy to use and all features work pretty well with no problems reported except a slight uneven toasting and the three loud beeps after toasting is finished.
