The Hamilton Beach 31334 Easy Reach Toaster Oven is a uniquely designed toaster oven that utilizes a roll top which gives you easy access to whatever’s cooking without potentially burning yourself. The top is even detachable for easy washing and cleaning. It also comes with a crumb tray, rack, and baking pan that can be easily removed and cleaned. A broiling option is available by using the high rack position in the oven and selecting the broil feature. The temperatures dial goes all the up to 450 degrees and can fit up to 4 slices of bread or 2 bagels. There are 2 settings on the timer showing a slice of bread – both under 5 minutes. The first shows a half-shaded slice, the second one dark for darker shades of toast
Some of the complaints against the Easy Reach Toaster are having to reset the toast setting every time you toast. This doesn’t sound like a problem but the arrow indicator is hard to see so knowing where to place it for good toasting is harder then it should be. It’s louder then it needs to be and is too jarring to hear when trying to use it in the mornings. The control are the biggest problem with the Easy Reach; they are far more complicated then they should’ve been. You have to turn the dial smoothly clockwise past a quarter-turn, then force the knob back counter-clockwise to whatever setting you want. There is a big gap around the oven door when the door is closed.
The Hamilton Beach 31334 Easy Reach Toaster Oven is a great toaster oven that cooks great with an easy to remove roll top for cleaning and being able to hold a pizza up to 12 inches is great too. The control dial is more complicated to use then it should’ve been and having to reset toaster settings every time you toast is annoying. The Hamilton Beach 31334 Easy Reach Toaster Oven is good toaster that does its job well but more features would’ve have been welcomed and a simpler interface.
